Can I just say that being 2 is wonderful?  There is something to be said for the personality of a two year old.  They do whatever they want, whenever they want.  They are pretty good so don’t often get in trouble.  They are hilarious and super cute.  They are so easy to love.  I believe that one of the things that makes me good at my job is knowing what to expect with every age group.  Between my wonderful hubby and I we have children between 2 and 23.  I know going into a session with a 2 year old that I am going to have to run, be quick with the camera, sometimes roll around on the grass, usually tickle and, I’ll just come right out and say it… sometimes even bribe.  The best part of it is that when I see the pictures I know that I’ve captured a little personality that will only be that way for a while longer.

I have had so many awesome families to photograph lately.  I love that each of them lets me in to their lives for that short time.  Sometimes after I’m done with the whole process and say good-bye for the last time I drive home sad.  Sounds strange I know but it is true.  Luckily this family lives right close by and I get to wave to their cutie pie oldest boy a few times a week and see his smile, a smile that each and every time I see it – somehow looks like he has a secret.  It makes me smile.   This is a super quick sneek for this family as I’m bound and determined not to get behind this year and so far am succeeding. 

I can’t believe that last year at this time I was considering not offering family sessions this year.  I am really enjoying the families this year.   It could be that I have had so many wonderful ones and this one is no exception!  I love getting to know my families and love it even more when they keep coming back.

Usually when I get a call for a photography session I ask questions so that I know what kind of pictures a client is looking for.  I get pretty good feedback as there are generally a couple of pictures that they specifically want… not this time.  I got a call from Julia, who was referred to me by her friend (thank you Lyda) and she was specific in that she wanted  a family “foot” picture, but it stopped there.  I asked her what else she was looking for and she told me that she had looked through my whole blog and just loved everything and left the rest up to me.  The house was amazing with about a zillion huge windows and her family has the best eyes ever.  They were very sweet and accomodating and wonderful to spend time with.  I even got to watch while Dad and Son built towers with the wooden blocks they had made themselves.  How cool is that?  Thank you and thanks for being patient while waiting for your sneak peek…

and one more… baby was taking a nursing break and big brother sat down to chat with his Mom for a moment.  Too sweet.

I know this is way to many images to be showing for a sneak peek but there were far too many amazing images to choose from and Dad, after having been at home with baby will be away for a month steady and will miss his daughter like crazy  – so, I finally gave up and just went nuts.  This session was so perfect, this little sweetie slept through most of it and her Mom and Dad were so nice.  It’s cool to see these hands on Dads, I love it when they get peed on and barely blink an eye.  I can tell it has happened before and will happen many more times.  These babies are the lucky ones, and of course the Mom’s are pretty lucky too.    Sometimes I leave a session and just know that I’ve gotten great shots and so many times it is because the people that I am photographing are trusting everything I do without question… I love it when that happens.  Thank you for that – here is your “big” sneak peek.

I loved these next two shots which were captured when we were taking a break.  Sometimes these shots turn out to show perfect moments so I can’t help but take pictures.  They many not be the pictures that are technially perfect but quite often they are some of my favorites, and sometimes the favorites of the family as well so I always show them anyway.
