It doesn’t have to be perfect – snaps of my children…
August 28, 2008Was everyone dressed perfectly? Was the light perfect? Was everyone in an awesome mood? Nope. lol. I finally quit waiting for the perfect day. I had my camera in the van, all the kids with me and we pulled over and I tossed everyone out. lol
It worked out pretty well if I do say so myself. I’m so happy to have pictures of my kids just as they are, and all together.
We had an awesome summer, we spent weeks and weeks camping and just being together. It’s almost time for the kids to go back to school and I’ll be losing my daughter to grade 1. It is a bittersweet time for me. I look forward to a little bit of peace and quiet… I say peace and quiet loosely because I’ll still have a crazy 2 year old at home but he does nap still (crossing my fingers). I also dread saying goodbye to all of them. I love our summers. I love how everyone learns again how to get along with each other, I love our lazy days where some of us don’t roll out of bed until 10:00 and I’ll miss our summer adventures. Sigh.
We are taking our last adventure this week-end, braving the cold and the -2 degrees that it is supposed to be through the night. We briefly considered not going but I can’t say good-bye to summer that easily so hopefully it will go well. We’ll have our last tv and video game free week-end, s’mores, mountain pies, bedtime stories in the trailer, triple pairs of pajamas to keep us warm, peaceful quiet days (if the sounds of children squealing and laughing count as peaceful) and motorbike rides. Tell me, would you be able to throw all of that aside just because of cooler weather? Not me.
So, once I’m back, it’s back to business. I’m almost done editing the two weddings that I did this summer and will have them done soon and then my fall sessions start. I do still have a few slots open for portraits but hurry, they usually go quickly after kids are back in school and parents have more than 3 minutes per day to spare. Once everyone starts thinking about portraits for their Christmas cards I’ll be fully booked. Oh, and don’t worry, if you are on my list you are guaranteed a space and will hear from me early next week.
Enjoy your week-end with your children, enjoy the last lazy days of summer where there are no lunches to be made and no homework to conquer.
