This is Chalyn, she is 2 and quite a character. She kept a smile on my face the whole time with her fun and antics. I’ve been photographing her since she was a baby but this is the first time I had been to their Chestermere home. It was neat to see her room and her toys and watch her as she interacted with everything. She loved the pettiskirt, one of my newest purchases. Nothing makes spinning more fun that a twirly swirly skirt. Lifestyle photography is definately different than studio photography and so much fun.

It seem I’m having a long run of people looking for baby pictures, which is great for me because I always love the baby sessions! Every time the phone rings it is a Mom looking to capture images of her baby before he/she gets big and they forget just how little they once were. Kristen called me just last week looking to have their sweet daughter photographed. It seems that this little girl grew a lot quicker than Mom and Dad had even imagined and all of a sudden she wasn’t looking like a newborn anymore. She took a chance and asked if I was available that week-end and low and behold, we were able to find a time that worked out.

When I walked in to her sisters place in Chestermere I was pleasantly surprised by an absolutely beautiful little girl with the most adorable chubbies, lots of dark hair, with sparkly blue eyes. She was amazing for the whole 2 hours that I was there. We were trying to get her to go to sleep but again, a baby with another agenda. She was much too interested in everything going on and was pretty cute to watch as she struggled to keep her eyes open. There were way too many cute images to choose from and it was hard to narrow down to just these ones, enjoy!

I’m going! I’m so excited.

In March in Las Vegas there is a huge photographers convention and I’m happy to say that I will be there! I will be attending tons of photography related classes including some that will discuss Children and Newborn photography and a couple that will deal strictly with running a photography business.  I am even assisting with an engagement shoot on the strip with another Calgary Photographer which will be super fun. I’m booked with Westjet, my room is booked at Paris in Las Vegas and I leave on March 14 for one whole week.  Woo Hoo!  I can’t tell you how excited I am.  Not a day goes by that I don’t do something to advance my photography.  Some might say I’m a little obsessed, but that is what helps me to become a better photographer.

I’m going to miss Terry and the kids like crazy but absence makes the heart grow fonder, isn’t that how the saying goes?

Now on a completely different note, I went to see the movie Juno tonight. I loved it. Terry and I were going to go last week and saw that it got terrible reviews. I don’t know why because it was funny and I even shed a tear or two (shhh, don’t tell). If you were thinking about seeing it I highly recommend it.

Earlier this year I took Carley and her friends out to check out the photo opportunities in Inglewood. The girls had fun and I couldn’t believe all of the different areas that were great for pictures. Everyone has been waiting to see these photos for a LONG time so here is a sneak peek for you guys.
