Today I thought I would share some of the images that I am shooting the catalogue for these super cool hats! I’ve seen them all over Calgary and love them. Every time I see a child wearing one I swear they look happy, how could they not with such a cute animal on their head keeping them warm and cozy. We went skiing/snowboarding last week-end and I even saw some Mom’s and Dad’s sporting them as well.

You’ve probably seen them around and may recognize a few of the more popular ones like the sock monkey that is my personal favorite. Knitwits has done a spin on the sock monkey and have created it in different colors. How fun is that? I am loving shooting the pictures for the catalogue, it is so much fun to hang out with the kids and to shoot outdoors in the winter which I love. I’m shooting the next batch this week and hope to share some more soon. Thank you to everyone that replied to the Calgary Casting call I had for this shoot. I appreciate all of the wonderful little models.

favorite baby pictures | calgary newborns

My wonderful sister Jacquie is a post-partum Doula and she is spending every day snuggling newborn twins. Listening to her stories has gotten me missing babies like crazy! I haven’t been doing as many newborn portraits as usual and am really missing them. I thought I would share some of the baby pictures from 2009 that make me smile.

I met with this wonderful calgary family in their beautiful Springbank home a couple of weeks ago for some portraits of their newborn baby. He was a little sweetie and of course I fell in love with him and his hair as usual. :) I just can’t resist babies with a perfect head of hair and I’m pretty sure it was because my first niece was born with a big mess of it atop her perfect little head.

caroline and paul | calgary twins portraits

If there is anything more sweet than 1 baby it is 2. Meet Caroline and Paul. Totally sweet, very busy and quite honestly they scared the pants off me. I’d forgotten how capable and tough 1 year olds are. I’ve been photographing so many babies that are under 6 months old and then I seem to get the toddlers that are 2. There is a huge change that takes place in that short time period. These 2 were crawling all over the place. Climbing off and on to their rocking horse and hurtling themselves at their stuffed bear. I think my heart came close to stopping about a million times. I was tired just watching them. When I picked them up though they felt so warm and sweet and snuggly. Still babies underneath all that bravery.
