My Friend Monster…

If you’re in Victoria when the Moss Street Market is in full swing I highly suggest stopping by for a wander. I did just that one beautiful sunny day in September. All by my lonesome, just me, my rental car and my camera. It was honestly a perfect day. If you do stop in, make sure you check out the doughnuts from the DoughBoys. I stopped by and asked which doughnut they suggested and ended up with one that had peanut butter and I think maybe some maple? I can’t exactly remember but I do remember that it was amazing. It’s a good thing I was already in my car when I ate it or I may have ended up with another one. Yes, they are that good.

I was thinking about these cute upcycled/recycled monsters today and realized that I never did write the blog post that I had intended to write when I was there taking photos. Life always gets too busy. So, I figured that a short post about “My Friend Monster” was better than no post at all about everything else I saw.  So here you go. I figure these would be a perfect gift for anyone in your life and Terri sums it up perfectly.  A little excerpt from her site:  I think what I most enjoy about the creation of these weird and wonderful creatures is the reaction of the people who see them. And I have discovered that the person doesn’t choose their own monster…the monster chooses them! There have been monsters that I was sure would sell very quickly, but didn’t. Then when I least expect it, the right person comes along and falls in monster-love! It is really quite magical.

And.. the monsters themselves…
