Lyla and Kylie . calgary baby photographer
Little Kylie has the sweetest big sister ever. After I had finished setting up and waiting for Kylie to star in the show I was sitting on the floor and little Lila came over, handed me a book called “heads” and turned around to sit in my lap. I was a little surprised but oh so happy to look at the book with her. She showed me all of the neat animals and of course their heads and the little slideouts that made each page even more fun and interactive. Her favorite one (and mine as well) was the page where the little ducklings (i think) were hiding. She was so cute pulling the flap outwards to make them disappear, saying “all gone” and pushing it back in. It makes me miss the baby/toddler stage even more than I already do.
Kylie was as sweet as can be after a few feedings. She fell right to sleep and made it hard for me to quit taking pictures. I usually tell parents that if the baby isn’t sleepy and needs lots of feeding and cuddling that their session can take longer. The reality is that if their baby stays sleeping and looking so cute, I can’t leave so I keep taking pictures. Really, when I know that I’m getting amazing portraits how can I just pack up and leave? Either way, I find that my newborn sessions are getting to be much much longer than they were 5 years ago when i tried to make it all happen in one hour. 🙂 How naive I was back then.
