have you hung your portraits yet? | calgary photographer
I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one that has portraits that haven’t yet been hung on the walls, or frames leaning against the wall that haven’t got portraits in them. Maybe even a disk of images that was tucked safely away and never taken out again? Print them, hang them!
But first… check out the blog of the talented Wendy Vonsosen whom I just discovered on pinterest. (Ya, I love pinterest) She has put together a series of “art project blog posts” featuring some other amazing photographers and it shows dozens of different ways to display your much loved portraits. Dozens! Seriously. I was in heaven. Clipboards, chalkboards, canvases, albums, standouts, simple frames, not so simple frames, clips, pinboards, Becky Higgins project life, … you name it, it is there. Head on over for some serious inspiration and beautiful photography. There are some of my favorite photographers that are featuring their own images in their own homes. LOVE IT!
i may or may not have empty frames leaning against my bedroom wall, unhung canvases in the living room and a project life kit sitting in the unopened box it came in. i have high expectations and wonderful ideas but am terrible at the follow through. maybe this will give me the nudge I need to make the creations and then share them with all of you. maybe.
and… a sneak peek at the goodness you’ll see on Wendy’s blog – this little clip is by Amy Lucy.
